This 150 cm by 150 cm Collective Tapestry is made of cut clothes and various yarns, ties, straps and so on.
It was made by the residents and visitors of Amsterdam Geuzenveld and myself.
As an artistic and collective activity, weaving was part of the "Maydan Festival" on Plein 40-45, May 2-3, 2022 and also of the "Vergroeningsfeest" on Lambertus Zijlplein, June 1, 2022. The main goal of Together weaving is people with connect each other and with material by creating together. It also creates awareness about the intensive process of handicraft, about textile production and reuse of materials.
Since October 2022, the work adorns the wall of PleinMode, the swap shop at Lambertus Zijlplein 7 where the clothes came from. This work was
commissioned by Maydan Festival and The BOOKSTORE foundation.
